We envision a world where Deaf people are not just accommodated—but truly welcomed, loved, and appreciated. A world where communication doesn’t end when someone realizes they don’t know the language, but instead begins with curiosity, creativity, and connection.
Too often, when people encounter someone who is Deaf or uses a different mode of communication, there’s a moment of hesitation. They freeze. The thought is, “Oh no, what do I do now?” But imagine a world where that thought shifts to: “Hmm, this is different—let me see how I can connect in a new way.”
Think about your own experiences. How many of you have traveled to a different country, or met someone who didn’t speak your language? Did you shun them? Were you afraid? Likely not. More often, you paused, smiled, and thought, “How can I say this differently?” You gestured, pointed, drew pictures—anything to bridge that gap. Because the desire to connect was stronger than the fear of doing it imperfectly.
That is exactly why we created this school.
Time2ASL was built as a space where thinking differently is encouraged, where creativity is part of communication, and where American Sign Language becomes more than just a set of signs—it becomes an expressive art form. Through facial expressions, body language, and movement, students learn not just to “translate” words, but to feel and share meaning in deeper, more human ways.
We want to reshape the way people think about unfamiliar languages—not as barriers, but as beautiful new avenues for connection. At our core, we believe that with the right mindset, anyone can learn to connect across differences. And through the power of sign language, that connection can be profound.
